Society Now

This year's most sought-after invitation must surely be that of the Cavender masquerade ball, to be held Monday next. Indeed, one cannot take two steps without being forced to listen to some society mama speculating on who will attend, and perhaps more importantly, who will wear what.

Neither of the aforementioned topics, however, are nearly as interesting as that of the two unmarried Cavender brothers, Brandon and Cedric. (Before anyone points out that there is a number three of the unmarried Cavender brothers, This Author guarantees you that she is fully keeping up of the existence of Garrison Cavender. He is, however, thirteen years of age, and is not significant in this column, which concerns, as This Author's Columns often do, the most consecrated of sports: husband-hunting.)

While the Misters Cavender are just--merely Misters--they're still considered two of the targets of the season. It is a known info that these two each possesses respectable fortunes, and it is not needed for a pair of perfect eyes to know that they also possess, as do all 7 Cavender offspring, the good looks.

Will some lucky young lady use the mystery of a masquerade night to entrap one of the eligible bachelors?

This Author isn't even going to wonder.
