This Author excitedly awaits to see what costume will the ton choose for the Cavender masquerade. It is rumored that Eloise Cavender will dress herself as Joan of Arc, and Elizabeth Sudbury, out for her third season and just returned from her visit with Irish cousins, will don the costume of a leprechaun. Miss Genevieve Remington, stepdaughter to the late Earl of Penwood, plans of sporting a mermaid costume, which This Author cannot wait to discover, but her elder sister, Miss Rosamund Remington, has been keeping her lips tight about her own attire.
As for the men, if previous masquerade balls are any indication, the portly will dress as Henry VIII, the more fit as Alexander the Great or maybe the devil, and the bored (the eligible Cavender brothers are sure to be among these ranks) as themselves--basic black evening kit, with only a demi-mask as a nod to the occasion.
